For the uninitiated, swap.com is an online consignment store that stocks items for women (including maternity!), men, children and babies.
First off, I want to let all of you know that I did receive a gift card to make a purchase with swap.com but the choice to create a review was entirely my own.
After such a positive shopping experience, I simply had to share! Swap.com is basically a mama dream come true.
No wrangling children through the mall and dressing rooms. Name brand goods at amazing prices. Hassle free returns.
Yep, you need this convenience in your life.
My first impressions when logging onto the site were that it was extremely easy to navigate.
I loved how simple it was to narrow down my search to only items I was interested in purchasing. Not only can you choose options like gender and size or type of garment, but you can also select the season.
I knew I wanted to treat myself to a pretty dress that could be worn year-round and the selection menus made it super easy to narrow down my choices.
I was absolutely delighted when I discovered a like new Banana Republic dress in my size that I could purchase for only $1 after applying my gift card! I couldn’t pass that up. Sold!
I bought my dress on a Monday night and it was in my hands by mid-day Saturday. Your first purchase of $10 qualifies for free shipping—it is normally $5.99 on orders under $60, but I got that wonderful free shipping on my order. I was pretty darn pleased with the processing and shipping time, especially since I chose the free option.
My dress was shipped in a poly mailer and inside the mailer it was wrapped in clear plastic with a label. There was no damage to the dress and minimal wrinkling.
It looked absolutely brand new! I loved the colors and pattern and cut of the dress immediately.
However, once I tried it on I discovered the fit just wasn’t quite right for me. The bust was a little big (that seriously never happens for me!! For reference I generally wear a 34H bra, yep) which could have potentially been worth tailoring to fix.
The deal breaker was that the under bust seaming around my rib cage was uncomfortably tight.
I could get the dress to zip, but I could easily see that even losing a couple of pounds wasn’t going to make that area of the dress comfortable for me. Obviously, this is not swap.com‘s fault.
Thankfully, they have an amazing returns policy. All I had to do was log in, select the item I wanted to return, and enter the reason for the return in order to generate a free return shipping label. Get in the mail. Done.
I get a full store credit to spend on something else fabulous and I couldn’t be happier.
All in all, this has been an A+ experience and I would definitely recommend checking out swap.com if you haven’t!
