Mother’s Day Brunch doesn’t need to be complicated.

With two kids under age 5 and another arriving late this summer I’m all about making my life a little easier. I’m talking about those “Tiny Victories” in life.

You know, getting the kids to actually go to sleep at a reasonable hour or try a new vegetable.

Just kidding, in my house (at least with my oldest child), getting her to try a new food is basically like winning the Super Bowl. Ha!

She did try a nibble of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot the other day after lots of coaching. We work with her as best we can, but her feeding issues can be a bit tricky.

She loves that the new Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap makes it simple for her to cover her plate and work on new foods again at the next meal. Have y’all seen this stuff? I normally avoid using plastic wrap because it makes me so angry but this product is so well-made that my 4 year old can use it by herself without a hitch! I’m all about letting my kids develop some independence.

Talk about some wins!

I also like to make holidays special without stressing myself out. Like Mother’s Day brunch.

When it comes to special occasions I’m a big believer in making things as simple as possible. Thankfully, with the help of the new Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap, prepping for Mother’s Day Brunch this year has been a breeze.

We made keepsake gifts *WITH PAINT* and had minimal clean-up to do afterward.

My girls are all about some messy art projects and I try to be cool and let the creativity fly. But my goodness the messes small children can create. I’m not sure there’s a single surface in my entire house that hasn’t been “decorated”. My poor kitchen table takes the brunt of things though.

I’ve tried several different things to help to contain the mess, from Dollar Store table cloths to covering everything in newspaper. My kids seem to feel that these barriers are in place as a challenge.

Using the new Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap as a paint barrier just made my life a gazillion times easier. Since it was secured under the table and covered the sides, the girls left it alone and my table didn’t suffer.

As an added plus they love to help wrap the table themselves and with the new Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap I can let them! The roll doesn’t pop out of the box and there are no sharp edges to worry about. With the Starter edge™ they are able to get a roll started all by themselves and the built-in slide cutter makes a clean cut (instead of a tangled mess!) every single time!

Of course the other bonus is that Grandma is going to absolutely love her heartfelt gifts.

In order to make art time (or mealtime!) a little easier in your house, simply cover the surface with some plastic wrap. When the kids are finished, peel the plastic wrap off the table and throw it away!

Y’all, seriously, try this idea, it’s a keeper!

My girls also know that their grandma loves getting flowers so they wanted to give her a pretty bouquet as part of their gift to her this year. They went out in the yard with their daddy to collect pretty blossoms to arrange and present to her at our Mother’s Day Brunch.

To make perfect flower arrangements that keep well all you need is pretty ribbon, pretty paper, Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap, paper towels, and some flowers.

Cut the stems of your flowers at an angle and arrange them as you like. Wet your paper towels and wrap the ends of the arrangement. Wrap the wet towels with Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap to hold the moisture in securely. Next, wrap the stems in a pretty paper and tie in a bow. This makes a sweet bouquet gift that any mother would love!

We decided to keep things extra easy this year with a make-ahead Mother’s Day Brunch. Delicious baked oatmeal with fruit and pretty pink lemonade to drink. Simple, headache free, and everyone enjoys it!

The key to my baked oatmeal is that it sits covered in the refrigerator overnight before baking. This gives it a much more enjoyable texture and it’s so simple to pop in the oven the next morning. Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap makes it a snap to pop this in the fridge confident that it’s securely covered and will stay fresh until it’s time to bake.

Mother's Day Brunch

With cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and molasses in the mix, smelling it bake will definitely make our house feel more celebratory come Mother’s Day! I feel good about serving it to my family because it is full of nutritious ingredients that won’t harm our health. It also doesn’t cause a blood sugar crash (and the resulting crankiness) from overindulgence—but it still tastes like a delicious treat! (Check out the recipe at the end of this post)

As much fun as I had helping my girls make our Mother’s Day Brunch special, I have to say *my* favorite part of prepping this year was having some “spa time” with my babies to relax after our hard work. This is the magic of motherhood.

We have so much fun brushing and “styling” each other’s hair and doing pretend makeup on each other’s faces. It always gets the giggles going and I love the conversations we get to have when we spend this deeper quality time together.

To make our time extra special we decided to do deluxe at-home pedicures (really the only way to do it with a 2- and 4- year old!). We are really big fans of non-toxic alternatives to regular nail polish. I love not having to worry about my tiny people absorbing nasty chemicals from their pink and purple toes.

The girls were delighted to have foot massages and pamper their tiny feet with Mommy!

We trimmed and shaped our nails and then rubbed on some nice oil and covered our feet in Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap and then socks for the ultimate moisturizing experience.

The girls thought this was hilarious! Their feet were even more baby soft and mine felt so pampered.

While far from perfect, they looked pretty darn cute too 😉

Mother’s Day this year was a homerun full of “Tiny Victories” that made me smile. We had so much fun getting ready to celebrate together and I really appreciated having a relaxed holiday I could simply enjoy with my family.

You have such a fun way of describing your life with little kids. I am all about simplifying things in life; little kids don’t care and it leaves me a lot more energetic and crafts. (at least for me!)
